Why Hartwick?
Why not Hartwick? First of all, the campus is gorgeous. Even after a year of going to school here, looking out into the valley still takes my breath away. I also really love the small class sizes, because they allow you to really get to know your professors. All of my professors know me by name and are always willing to make time to help me if I need it.

What are your classes like?
My classes are pretty small and very hands on. You have to be committed to be successful in college, but the professors are there to work with me and help me get to where I want to be in life.

What does "theory into practice" mean to you?
Theory into practice means learning how to apply what you learn in the classroom to real-life situations. Lab classes give you the opportunity to try out what you just learned and see how someday you can turn it into a career.

How have your professors made an impact on your education?
My professors are looking out for me and genuinely want me to succeed. There are a few professors in particular who are encouraging and helping me to get involved in research.

What do you do outside the classroom?
I'm a captain on the cross-country team, an orientation leader, an RA, and am a member of Craft Club.

How do you describe Hartwick to your friends back home?
The first thing I always talk about is all of the stairs! On a more serious note, though, Hartwick is my home. It's where I found my niche.

What comes after Hartwick?
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure, but I know that I can do anything I set my mind to.

What would you tell future Hartwick students?
College is what you make of it.

Hartwick is amazing, because we keep asking "Why?" We keep delving deeper and we keep finding answers.
