Cabins and Lodging

Cabin descriptions and 2013 rental rates are listed below. Summer 2013 rental season begins Friday, May 31. Rental season ends Friday, August 16 for Robertson Lodge and the Farmhouse; Sunday, August 18 for all other cabins.

Please note our updated discount policy:
Pine Lake offers a $15 per night discount on a cabin rentals to current Hartwick College faculty, staff, students, and Friends of Pine Lake members. This discount does not extend to alumni, non-members, or to day use rentals of Pine Lake facilities and meeting spaces (Vaudevillian, Lakeside, Pavilion, Stage, etc.).

The Strawbale House
Public rate: $150/night
Member rate: $135/night 
An exquisite natural building designed and built by Hartwick students enrolled in the Architecture of the Sacred course. Bathroom, meditation room, bedroom/loft, kitchen. Porches overlook the grounds in one of the most attractive sites at Pine Lake. Outdoor earthen bread oven and fireplace. Natural, local white pine floors and ceiling, natural plaster interior walls. Open loft-style sleeping area has two full-size beds (one is a Nikita futon bed) and two single beds (made from combining a Nikita futon chair and footstool). A Nikita futon love seat and chair in the meditation room combine to convert to a full size bed. Sleeps up to 6.

Bailey Cabin
Public rate: $165/night
Member rate: $150/night
Rustic pine interiors, south facing windows. Two floors: four bedrooms (three upstairs), large wrap-around deck, kitchen and living room, full bathroom, skylights. Sleeps 4-8.

The Cob House
Public rate: $140/night
Member rate: $125/night
Our newest cabin, finished in early September 2010. Cob is a mixture of sand, clay, and straw. This earthen home has two sleeping nooks (not full bedrooms), ten-foot ceilings, an open living area, and is built of largely of local and salvaged materials. It's a one-of-a-kind structure built by Hartwick students and alumni.  Sleeps 2-4.

Redwood One Cabin
Public rate: $125/night
Member rate: $110/night
Knotty pine interior. Three bedrooms, screened porch, kitchenette, living room, bathroom.  Sleeps 3-5.

Redwood Two Cabin
Public rate: $120/night
Member rate: $105/night
Knotty pine interior. Two bedrooms, screened porch, kitchenette, living room, bathroom.  Sleeps 2-4.

The Farmhouse
Public rate: $130/night
Member rate: $115/night
Built in the 1830's, the Farmhouse has four bedrooms (two single beds each), kitchen, living room, roofed porch, small bathroom.  Sleeps 4-8.

Hill and Dale 2 Cabin
Public rate: $120/night
Member rate: $105/night
Sometimes called The Long-Legged House after Wendell Berry's book of essays. Two small bedrooms (each with one single bed), kitchenette, open living room, with bathroom. Roofed porch is a stone's throw from the lake. A full-size futon living room furniture combo that folds out to a bed. Remodeled in December 2008, originally a 1920's Sears & Roebuck kit house. All new fixtures, furniture, and interior.  Sleeps 2-3.

Crossroads Cabin
Public rate: $105/night
Member rate: $90/night
A cozy, smaller cabin with an open, studio-style floor plan. A small roofed porch overlooks one of the best views of the lake -- a great place to eat breakfast, or to catch up on some reading after an afternoon swim. Interior has separate bathroom, open kitchenette/living area/sleeping area.  Sleeps 1-2.

Robertson Lodge (entire)
Public rate: $360/night
Member rate: $345/night
Eight bedrooms (two single beds each). Includes use of living room and kitchen. Kitchen is equipped with two standard size gas ranges, two refrigerators, and dishwasher. Plates and silverware for twenty. TV with cable. The downstairs gallery and bathrooms share the building and remain public areas.  Capacity up to 16.
