Title: Part-Time Head Cheerleading Coach
Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Activities, the Head Cheerleading Coach enhances the student experience by fielding a competitive program, bonding students with other students and forging relationships that create a connected and active alumni group. The head coach helps publicize Hartwick College through positive contributions in the local and campus communities, and through athletic success within the northeast region and/or nationally.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching (games, practices, practice prep, video, professional development); and program projects such as strength and conditioning packets, program newsletters, fundraising, and scheduling. Must have the ability to work effectively with students, assist with Student Senate processes (event registration, budgeting and training), and create and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external constituents.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 3-5 years of experience in an assistant or head coach position at the collegiate or professional level. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the College. Requires appropriate licensing and/or willingness to obtain; CPR/First Aid certification. The position requires general computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide academic guidance and mentoring to student-athletes. Supervisory experience preferred. The head coach must be knowledgeable and up to date with NFHS Spirit, safety, rules and regulations.
