Position Titles:  Lifeguard (Moyer Pool and Pine Lake Waterfront)
                              Elting Fitness Center Attendant
NOTE: Number of positions will be dependent upon availability and certifications of applicants.  Positions will provide combined coverage for above listed facilities. 

Department: Athletics / Pine Lake 
The Moyer Pool is located in the Binder Physical Education Center on the Hartwick College Campus, Oneonta, NY.  The Pine Lake Environmental Campus is located in Davenport, NY.

Full-time (35-40 hrs/wk) ; Monday - Sunday
NOTE: Positions will vary from 35-40 hours/week based on hiring sufficient staff to provide coverage for the facilities listed above on a rotational basis. Work week hours to be scheduled by Dale Rothenberger, Aquatics Director/Summer Facilities Supervisor.

Description: Provide lifeguard coverage during open recreation hours and for special groups and functions held during the summer months in the Moyer Pool and Pine Lake Waterfront as well as providing coverage for the Elting Fitness Center. Responsibilities will include all regular lifeguard duties (water safety supervision, monitor attendance, help with New York State Department of Health swim skill testing for all summer programs, keep work site clean and orderly), monitoring/supervising the Elting Fitness Center, and other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director/Summer Facilities Supervisor.

Qualifications:  Previous lifeguard experience required for head lifeguard position; for other positions previous lifeguard and fitness/weight training experience preferred.  Must have the ability to complete some clerical and maintenance tasks; keep accurate records; must be conscientious and reliable; and have good telephone and one-on-one interaction skills.  Must have good organizational and communication skills, and be able to interact effectively with children.  See certification requirements listed below.

Head Lifeguard Position(Moyer Pool / Pine Lake Waterfront)

• 18 years of age (minimum)
• Updated American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• Updated First Aid Certification
• Updated CPR & AED Certification
• Updated Waterfront Lifeguard Certification
• Updated American Red Cross WSI Certification
• Previous experience REQUIRED
