Office of Institutional Research

The office collects and analyzes data within the College and comparable data from peer institutions to support decision-making and planning. In addition, IR complies with federal and state reporting requirements. Hartwick is a member of the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) for data sharing with other private colleges.

Quick facts about Hartwick: 1,578 students enrolled for 2011-12 from 32 states and 18 countries. The Social Sciences were the most popular major among juniors and seniors, followed by the Physical and Life Sciences and then Humanities. 30% of students participated in one or more sports. The six-year graduation rate for athletes is 57%. Hartwick has 105 full-time faculty with 79% of full-time faculty holding the highest degree in their disciplines. Student-to-faculty ratio is 11.4 to 1. 75% of students live in campus housing, including the Hartwick College Pine Lake Environmental Campus.
