TRC Services for Students

The Technology Resource Center is your first stop for technology questions and troubleshooting.

The TRC will provide free troubleshooting for students’ access and use of Hartwick College-supported applications (e.g., D2L, WebAdvisor, Microsoft Office, and SPSS).

The TRC is located in Clark 150. Our business hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Student Repair Services

The TRC will provide free problem assessment to assist a student in determining the nature of the problem and whether it requires technician time to repair. Beyond that assessment, the following guidelines apply:

Hardware Repair Services

  • Warranty Services: Hartwick College can provide warranty repair services for HP Business Class computers (not for HP personal-class computers) and for Apple computers. Parts and service for warrantied repairs on these machines are free of charge.
  • For other computers, we provide non-warranty repair services, where possible, for a fee ($25.00 per 15-minute increment plus parts, shipping, and tax).

Software Repair Services

  • Problem assessment and basic troubleshooting at our front desk are provided free of charge.
  • Software repair services requiring dedicated technician time are provided where possible for a fee ($25.00 per 15-minute increment plus tax).

Rental of Notebook Computers

Students may rent a computer, as available, from the TRC. Notebook computer rental rates are:

  • Daily – $28
  • Weekly – $45
  • Monthly – $110
  • Semester – $285

Note: Minimum rental period is one day. The notebook computer comes complete with carrying case, Microsoft Office software, power adapter and Ethernet cable.
