U.S. News & World Report College Guide 2011

U.S. News & World Report ranks Hartwick College a first-tier Best National Liberal Arts Colleges in its 2012 Best Colleges guidebook. The magazine also ranks Hartwick No.21 among all colleges and universities in the country for the Most Students Who Study Abroad. Based on the number of computers per student, U.S. News has named Hartwick one of the Top 10 Most Wired College Campuses in the country (No. 8).

Newsweek, October 2009: In "The Three-Year Solution: How the reinvention of higher education benefits parents, students, and schools," U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee lauds Hartwick's program as a "forward thinking" example of innovative measures being taken by colleges to help families and students cut costs.

 

Fiske Guide 2012

 

The 2012 Fiske Guide to Colleges: Hartwick is named one of the 330 best and most interesting U.S. colleges and universities.

 

Forbes magazine & Center for College Affordability and Productivity: Hartwick ranked 354th out of the 650 best colleges in the nation. Hartwick also ranks 285th among private colleges and 111th in the Northeast. Forbes ranks only the top 20 percent of all undergraduate programs. Hartwick was chosen based on quality of education, student experience, and student achievement.

 

A committee of college admissions professionals, educators, and high school counselors selected Hartwick as a "College of Distinction" in recognition of our tradition of taking learning outside the classroom, active campus community, and rate of successful graduates.

 

CollegeStudentAthletes.com convened a task force of high school counselors to highlight lesser-known Division III schools that are worth a second look. Reason given for Hartwick's selection: "Education goes beyond the books. At Hartwick, students put theory to the test. In class, on campus, and through real-world projects, students roll up their sleeves to meet the challenge, putting liberal arts education into practice."
