Exporting and Importing Blackboard Courses
At the end of every term, you should back up your Blackboard course for future reference, and for possible reuse in next year's version of the course. Here are your options:
1. Downloading the Blackboard Grade Center: this allows you to save a version of the grade center as an Excel spreadsheet for future reference. Any changes made to the Blackboard Grade Center after this download will not be reflected in this file.

2. Exporting a Blackboard Course: An export of your course will preserve a 'shell' of the course, which contains the files you post, your grade center columns and settings and other elements you specify. It does not contain student submissions, discussions or grades. It is the ideal thing to import into next year's version of the course.

3. Importing Last Year's Export Into This Year's Course: When you start prepping your Blackboard course for the term, you can import last year's content in first, then tweak it to make it relevant for your plans for this year.
