Additional Required Software
In order to keep Hartwick’s network free from malware and running smoothly, all computers that are connected to the network are required to have Symantec Endpoint Protection installed by Hartwick College.
1. I’m bringing a computer that runs Microsoft Windows. What do I need?
Hartwick-recommended laptops which are bought through the Hartwick Laptop Store already have Symantec Endpoint Protection installed. Other computers that run Microsoft Windows will need to have the Windows Personal Required Bundle installed by the Technology Resource Center (TRC). The license and installation cost is $33.09 ($30.64 + tax).
2. I’m bringing a Macintosh computer. What do I need?
Computers that run Mac OS will need to have the Macintosh OS X Required Bundle installed by the Technology Resource Center (TRC). The license and installation cost is $33.09 ($30.64 + tax). If you have Windows installed on your Mac, you will also need the Windows Personal Required Bundle installed on the Windows side of your Mac.
3. I’m bringing more than one computer. Do I need this Symantec software on both of them?
Yes, it has to be installed on every computer that will access the Hartwick network.
4. What if I need SPSS?
Some classes will require SPSS statistical software. Students may run SPSS over the network using the College's application server at no cost, or they can have SPSS installed on their own laptop at the Technology Resource Center by purchasing an annual license.
5. How do I purchase the required software bundle for non-Hartwick computers?
To place your order by credit card, follow the instructions below. Students may also purchase using their WICKit card.

a. go to http://community.hartwick.edu and log in using your Hartwick username and password.
b. click the "eMarketplace" tab near the top right
c. click to select the version of the software that you need (Windows or Macintosh)
d. Enter the first name, last name, student ID and Hartwick username of the Hartwick student you are purchasing for
e. Click "Submit"
f. Verify the information and click "Checkout"
g. On the left side of the screen, select a payment option
h.On the right side of the screen, enter the Hartwick student's username and password. If you don't have that information, you may check "order as a guest"
i Click "Continue"
j. On the left side of the screen, complete the billing information for the person whose credit card is being used
k. On the right side of the screen, enter the student name in "full name of person picking up order" field
l. Click "Continue"
m. Enter the credit card information and click "Place order"
n. Follow the prompts to complete the order and get your receipt. Bring the receipt to your Welcome Weekend computer session where your software will be installed.
