Thailand: People, Animals and Plants of Thailand
The hills of Northern Thailand provide a home for many different ethnic peoples, who have for centuries lived in harmony with their environment. These unique cultures are currently threatened with globalization and problems of immigration, restricted land use, crop restrictions, lack of cash crops and productive forests, environmental degradation, water pollution, poor sanitation and food security. The objective of this course is for the students to be involved in a mutual relationship with the hill tribe villagers, where we can learn from and help each other.
