e-Reg for Advisors Instructions
Getting Started
Prior to each pre-registration period the Office of Advising and Registration (OAR) notifies students of their scheduled pre-registration time. These notifications generally prompt meetings with faculty advisors to create a course schedule for an upcoming term. e-Advising allows the student to create a course worksheet electronically, meet with their faculty advisor to discuss their course choices, have the faculty advisor approve courses electronically from their worksheet, and then allows the student to pre-register electronically for available course sections.
Course planning can happen in one of two ways: the student can create their worksheet and add courses to their plan individually, or the student can work with you while they create their worksheet and add courses. In either case, once a student has created their worksheet and added courses to their plan, the student should meet with you to discuss those choices. Once you and the student have agreed on a set of courses, you approve them (if you haven't already) so that the student can pre-register electronically during their scheduled pre-registration time.
Where do I go from here?
Once your advisee has notified you of a completed worksheet, you are now ready to view that worksheet, meet with your advisee, make any relevant course modifications, and approve their course choices. Please note, you may also sit down with your advisee to build their worksheet if you feel it is warranted.
