50/50 Peer Helping
For students who feel more comfortable talking to a fellow student, Hartwick has 50/50 Peer Helpers available. Located on the third floor of Dewar Union, the name of their program is "50-50" and their on-campus extension is 5050. Peer Helping is confidential and available during the day as well as evening and weekend hours. Call extension 5050 or 4420 for more information.
Counseling Services
The Counseling Services office is located in the Perrella Wellness Center. Appointments can be made between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at extension 4420 or in person. No referral is necessary for an appointment, although referrals are accepted. Students are seen as soon as possible by one of the counselors; in the case of an emergency a student is seen immediately. Services are free of charge to Hartwick College students and on a limited basis to Hartwick faculty and staff. Perrella Wellness Center
Perrella’s mission is to promote and maintain those conditions that will encourage students to realize their optimum physical, emotional, intellectual, and social well-being. To achieve this goal we practice preventative healthcare and assist students to become educated consumers of healthcare. All contacts with the Wellness Center's staff are strictly confidential. Information cannot be released to anyone, including parents or legal guardians, without written permission by the student, except in the case of a legally executed subpoena, communicable disease where by law public health officials are notified, or in the event of a life-threatening situation. Learning Support Services/Students with Special Needs/Disabilities
Located in the Loft, Yager, 5th floor. Hartwick College is committed to providing equal access to qualified students with disabilities. Although the College does not have a specialized program or a learning center for students with disabilities, Learning Support Specialists in the Loft will coordinate individualized academic accommodations and support services for any Hartwick student who qualifies. Tutoring/Supplemental Instruction
Located in the Loft, Yager, 5th floor. Peer Tutorial services are provided, free of charge, to help refine students’ study skills as well as provide them with assistance in most subjects. Supplemental instructors are available in courses that are particularly challenging for students. They coordinate group tutoring sessions, work one-on-one with students in the class, and perform additional tasks related to the course. Writing Center
