Undeclared Student Advising Services

In recent years, as many as 40 percent of incoming students at Hartwick were undecided about their major, and nearly 50 percent of Hartwick students change their major at least once before graduation. Many high-achieving high school students come to college without having settled on a major because they have several fields of interest and are not ready to select just one. It makes you no less serious about your education, and it places no limits on your chances for success in college or beyond. Download our Undeclared major fact sheet to learn what's possible.

If you are currently undeclared, you have until the second semester of your sophomore year to declare a major. This gives you time and space to explore options, take elective courses, learn more about yourself, meet students and faculty members in various departments, and make sound decisions about your major.

Please take advantage of the many resources available to undeclared students throughout the process of choosing your major. Questions? E-mail us at undeclared@hartwick.edu or visit the Office of Career Development & Education (Golisano Hall) or the Office of Advising & Registration (4th Floor, Dewar), for more information.
