Accounting's focus is on the preparation, communication, and use of economic information for decision-making and has been referred to as the language of business. Accountants maintain financial records and supervise the recording of transactions for businesses, corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and government organizations.

- Two tracks from which to choose:
Accounting CPA track--leads to a career in public accounting
Accounting General track--leads to a career in corporations - Can be combined with a minor in Finance for increased marketability
- Graduates have little trouble finding jobs and some are employed by the 'Big-4' public accounting firms and Fortune 100 corporations
