Education 390 - Anguilla, British West Indies: Multicultural Mini-Practicum

While in Anguilla, British West Indies, students will gain 120 hours of practical classroom teaching experience in a setting diverse in culture, socioeconomic, and geographic backgrounds. Readings on multicultural education, special learners, and the sociological dimensions of schools, students and teachers all provide a formal context for reflecting on the teaching experience. Students will prepare lessons/activities utilizing teaching strategies and methods that accommodate different learning styles, multi-intelligences and students identified with special needs. Students will also take steel pan lessons, assist with the after school band, and participate in community service.
