Professor of Art History
Prof. Ayer teaches art history courses in Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque as well as the art of Imperial China and Art of the Andes. Her special interest is 13th century Italian painting and the impact of Byzantine art and culture in the West. She has given lectures at several conventions of International Congress on Medieval Studies and in 1997 she was an organizer and moderator of panel, Liturgy and Liturgical Object in Transition, 13th-15th Centuries. She also took part in the Modern Language Association Convention, Washington D.C. 1997, "Language Across the Curriculum: French and Art History," in the session, Multidisciplinary in Foreign Language Teaching: Is it for Us or Against Us?
