Meet Our Tutors

Our tutors are upperclass students who have demonstrated successful writing skills. Some are interested in careers as teachers of English or English as a Second Language, and tutor to gain teaching experience.

They can help you with writing concerns ranging from punctuation to organization. They can also help guide you in all phases of writing from early planning to final revising. With their help, you have access to a variety of resources including handbooks, style manuals, dictionaries, and essay collections.

Typically, you might come to the Writing Center to confer with a tutor about a specific work-in-progress, such as a class composition, research paper, senior thesis, application essay, résumé, short story, or business letter.

You can call to arrange a conference (431-4918) or stop by in person. You may also make an appointment by e-mailing
