Christine Cumming


Christine Cumming received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. While there, she studied saxophone performance with Dr. James Stoltie. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Music Education at Ithaca College and continued to study saxophone performance and pedagogical practice there with Dr. Steven Mauk.

Mrs. Cumming has taught music in New York State at Springfield Central School, Harpursville Central School, and most recently for 29 years at Bainbridge-Guilford Central School, teaching both instrumental and vocal music, but primarily specializing in woodwind instruction and instrumental performance. During her tenure at B-G, she also served as the Music Department Chairperson.

Mrs. Cumming continues to perform frequently on the saxophone, flute, clarinet and oboe in local community theatre productions and orchestral presentations. She is also a member of the “Triple Threat” Saxophone Quartet.
