Theatrical Facilities

The Lab Theatre is the 'home away from home' to the theatre major/minor.  It is a black box theatre that can be arranged in a variety of different ways.  The Lab seats anywhere from 50-80 people for shows.  Senior projects, one-acts, and theatrical courses are most often held within this area.

This facility enables students to have a faculty member, a technical director, and an academic intern within arms reach. The Lab has adequate storage for props and costumes, as well as a large scene shop and tool room.  You will often find students working on costumes upstairs in the costume shop, building sets/props in the shop, or just hanging out and talking about theatre in the greenroom.

Slade Theatre is the other 'home away from home' to the theatre major/minor.  This is where all main stage plays, the annual January Term Musical, and the Orchesis Dance Shows are performed.  Slade Theatre seats about 300 people and is centrally located on campus next to the library.  Slade also has two large make-up rooms downstairs, a cat walk, a large tech booth for lighting and sound, and a small box office.  Check out the display in the theatre lobby of posters from our past productions!
