The following is an example sequence of required courses for a major in Biology:

First Year:

• Principles of Biology I and II
• General Chemistry I and II (or Accelerated Chemistry)

Second Year:

• Genetics (or Biology core course)
• Biology course from one of the core areas
• Organic Chemistry I or Physics I and II
• Statistics or Calculus

Third Year:

• Three Biology courses from core areas
• Junior Research Methods
• Physics I and II or Organic Chemistry I

Fourth Year:

• Two additional Biology courses from any of the three Biology core areas
• Senior Research Thesis
• Senior Comprehensive Examination
