Example Sequence of Courses
The following is an example sequence of required courses for a major in Biology:
First Year:
- Principles of Biology I and II
- General Chemistry I and II (or Accelerated Chemistry)
Second Year:
- Genetics (or Biology core course)
- Biology course from one of the core areas
- Organic Chemistry I or Physics I and II
- Statistics or Calculus
Third Year:
- Three Biology courses from core areas
- Junior Research Methods
- Physics I and II or Organic Chemistry I
Fourth Year:
- Two additional Biology courses from any of the three Biology core areas
- Senior Research Thesis
- Senior Comprehensive Examination
