The Faculty

Our faculty are committed to engaging students in geological and environmental study and research. They take mentoring seriously and encourage students to apply their knowledge to a variety of scientific and "real-world" problems in both coursework and independent research. The faculty are active and nationally recognized researchers in their fields. Research areas span an impressive spread of geography, from the northwestern Adirondacks, Catskill Mountains, and Finger Lakes regions of New York State, to many other areas of the globe, like the eastern Bahamas, the San Bernadino Mountains of California, the Guadalupe Mountains of New Mexico, the Oaxaca region of Mexico, and the central Appalachians.
