Hartwick college

The Economics Alumni Network was founded in Spring, 2003 through the efforts of Jens Miller '03, Michael Piagentini '03, and Sky Gordon '08 and is maintained by Jordan Liz '12. 

The network has three objectives, which are furthered by the alumni who have joined it and agreed to respond occasionally to inquiries via e-mail from members and prospective members of the Hartwick College community:

• to provide a way to maintain and renew connections among alumni of the Hartwick College Economics Department;
• to provide advice and mentoring to current Hartwick College students who are exploring career interests; and
• to offer insights about Hartwick College to prospective students who are interested in applying for admission.

Barringer, Jeffrey '02 is a Associate Attorney at McGlinchey Stafford, practicing in national consumer financial services in Albany, New York.

Bolton, Ashlin '03 is Contract and Budget Senior Analyst at Management Sciences for Health in Boston, Massachusetts.

Bosch, Eric  ’77 is President of Bosch & Associates, LLP, a 10 year old client focused executive search firm specializing in the fields of General Management, Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, and Finance.

Brennan, Kevin '05 is a Staff Analyst for New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, Kevin works on Randall's Island in NYC and is responsible for research into sustainability projects, and general office work.

Brimley, Stephen '92 an independent consultant, recently formed Brimley Research in Belfast, Maine.  He works with Native American tribes on economic development projects for natural resource management and criminal justice.

Brown, Christopher '75 is Assistant Vice-President, Stop Loss Insurance for Sun Life of Canada in Wellesley, Massachusetts.  Sun Life is a multinational insurance company.

Brown, David ’73 is President of Brown Packaging, Inc., a distributor of packaging machinery and materials throughout the Northeastern United States.

Bruce, Bob '72 is a Material Manager for Ametek, a manufacturer of regenerative blowers used in industrial applications. 

Carilli, Anthony '83 is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney, Virginia.

Cartwright, Andrew ’87 is Vice President for Underwriting at ACE Tempest Re USA, LLC, a property & casualty and accident & health treaty reinsurance agency for US-based insurance companies. Andrew specializes in workers compensation, commercial automobile liability and alternative risk casualty business

Chambers, Kate '05 is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Policy, University of Texas at Austin.

Chapman, Shaun '02 is Communications Manager at the Network for New Energy Choices, in charge of strategic outreach, planning, and communication of renewable energy policy.

Chase, Karen (Johnson) '87 is Audit-Compliance Manager at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, an HCA Healthcare facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Cheney, Scott ’85 is Chief Financial Officer at DVDPlay, Inc., a kiosk-based retail movie rental chain.

Ciminelli, Liz '06 is a English Teacher at Sunshine Kids English School in Hangzhou, China.  She teaches small classes of 5 to 18 year olds to help them augment the English they learn in school.

Coddington, Mitch ’77 is Chief Financial Officer at Energy Investors Funds, which manages institutional investor capital in the power and energy sector.

Conard, Richard '74 is a Transporation Planner for the Massachusetts Highway Department in Boston.

Cronin, Heather (Frahm) '90 is Co-Founder of Catalyst on-line, Inc., an interactive marketing firm in Newton, Massachusetts that specializes in the development of integrated online marketing strategies for the health care industry.

Dakin Boldyga, Jessica '02 is a Sales Account Executive for The Hartford.  She specializes in Life and Disability insurance.

Deakins, Christopher E. '81 is Chief Operations Officer of Excalibur Advisors, a specialized alternative Investment Consultant advising institutions on hedge funds and private equity investments.

deMenocal, George ’78 is Executive Vice President for Aon Re Global, Inc., a reinsurance intermediary company. George manages the company’s Stamford, Connecticut office. 

DesRoberts, Eric '08 is a student at the University of Maine Orono, currently working towards a Master's degree in Resource Economics and Policy. Eric also has been awarded a research assistantship studying bio mass efforts in Quebec.

DiGirolamo, Sharon (Boebel) '92 worked for the World Bank and the I.M.F. after graduation and is currently Special Education Coordinator for Sussex Central Middle School in Sussex County, Delaware.

Dithmer, Erik '79 is Vice President for Corporate Accounts at Dell, Inc.

Dodenhoff-Charbonneau, Susan ’77 is owner and operator of Dode’s Discount Trophies in Gansevoort, New York.

Ducharme, Paul '89 is Founder and President of Black Dog Media, Inc., a national billboard company.

Dupree, Rick '89 is Director of Reinsurance Asset Management for Travelers Property Casualty Corp.

Eckhart, Walter '72 is Promotion Manager at Pactiv Corporation, a manufacturer of packaging products sold to businesses and consumers under the brand name Hefty.

Evans, David '78 is Territory Manager for Berwick/Offray LLC, manufacturers of decorative ribbons and trims.

Feldman, Michel '96 is Operations Manager for Fidelity ActionsXchange, a leading provider of global corporate actions data.  Michel is responsible for supervising a team of Research Analysts in Boston, MA.

Fitzgerald, Michael J. '92 deals with troubled assets as Vice-President of the Asset Recovery Group at Key Bank, N.A. 

Foster, David  '05 is a Deal Closing Specialist at Citi Investment Bank in New Castle, DE, where he assists in the underwriting and financing of syndicated loans.

Frahm, Heather '90 is President of Catalyst Online, a search marketing agency.

French, Steven '80 is President / CEO of Abenaki Timber Corporation in Kingston, New Hampshire.  Abenaki is a wholesale hardwood lumber distributor and manufacturer with dry kiln operations in Epping, New Hampshire and Belington, West Virginia.  Abenaki hardwoods are exported all over the world and the firm employs around 60 people.

French, Debra (Fischer) '80 is currently an at home mom when not helping out at Abenaki.  Debra and Steven French both majored in Economics, and the first of their three children began college in fall, 2003.   

Gardiner, Samantha '98 works in the Professional Training Program at UNESCO, the division of the United Nations for Education, Science and Culture, in Paris, France.

Garrison, Steve ’67 is President and owner of Alexandria Computers, a full service computer retail, service and repair shop in Glencoe, Alabama.

Gerich, Amanda '06 is an Assurance Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC, doing auditing work for retail, consumer, and nonprofit clients in the NYC metro area.

Ghidiu, John '67 is a Management Consultant focused on process improvement using Lean Sigma tools and methodology.

Gillis, Kurt '77 is Senior Director of Sales at ProfitLine, a firm specializing in telecom provisioning and expense management.

Girgis, Richard '89 is Assistant Vice President and P.I.A. Portfolio Manager for Merrill Lynch, in New York City.

Gransbury, Steve '93 is a Managing Director of SLG Benefits & Insurance, LLC in Salem, Massachusetts.  SLG Benefits is an Insurance Program Management Company, specializing in medical stop loss insurance.

Gray, Val ’70 is an administrator in the NY State Department of Health in Albany, NY.

Grinnal, Patrick '89 is a Development Manager for Walt Disney Imagineering , responsible for project management (budget, schedule and design) of the entire process of building a resort, from feasibility to design to construction management to completion.

Hanlon, Lorraine ’73 is Section Manager of Benefit Services for Consolidated Edison of NY, Inc.

Harrigan, Kevin P. '78 is the Vice President and Relationship Manager for Commercial Banking at Citizens Bank, one of 10 largest commercial banking companies in U.S.

Harris, Lori '87 is President of HIPAA Regulatory Compliance, P.C., a professional law corporation specializing in healthcare law including compliance with the HIPAA privacy of medical records law.

Hendrick, Stephen ’76 is a Group Vice Resident at International Data Corporation, where he leads IDC's market research efforts in the area of application development and deployment tools and technologies.

Jensen, Richard ’68 is Chairman & CEO of ThePrivateBank, a small two office boutique bank offering traditional banking serving affluent individuals looking for a high degree of personal service.

Jurbala, Courtney (Primarolo) ’00 is a Senior Analyst at Molson-Coors Brewing Co. in Golden, Colorado.

Kadirov, Rustam ’04 is a Financial Analyst  at Ferzan, Robbins, & Associates, a real estate development firm in New York City. He is involved in budgeting and estimating future project related costs, forecasting future cash flows, and updating financial records.

Kaiser, Erik '92 is Principal of Ashley REMI Group a real estate services company he founded in Hoboken, New Jersey.  Ashley REMI is a full service real estate firm focused on ground-up development of mid-rise multi-family properties in urban areas.

Kellett, Allison ’04 is a 7th and 8th grade Math Teacher at Oceanside Middle School.  

Killeen, John P. '87 is a College Investment Instructor for Year Up, one-year, intensive training program that provides urban young adults 18-24, with a unique combination of technical and professional skills, college credits, an educational stipend and corporate apprenticeship based in Boston, MA.

Kluge, Philip '78 is Co-Founder and Manager of Sales for Transaction Resources, Inc., in Woburn, Massachusetts.  TRI provides payment processing services, equipment, and software to businesses.

Klump, Amanda '00 is an Economic Analyst in the Economic Policy Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.  The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.

Kocherkevych, Nataliya '02 is pursuing a Ph.D. in finance at the University of Wisconsin, where she was awarded the University Chancellor's Fellowship, which covers the full cost of her education.

Kolben, Eric '92 is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley.

Kvarnmyr, Anders ’88 is Credit Manager for Ahlsell AB, a non-agricultural goods wholesaler in Stockholm, Sweden.

LeBlanc, Bob '01,  a Senior Associate at KPMG LLP assurance practice in Boston, Massachusetts, completes financial statement audits for financial service clients.

Leeber, Greg '91 is co-owner and manager of Premium Response, LLC, a direct response marketing company in Yarmouth, ME.

Lewis, Rev. Philip M.’78 is the Rector at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. He is currently involved in parish revitalization projects working with Purpose Driven Ministries, Acts29 and Nashotah House Seminary.

Lloyd, Keith '91 is Vice President of Finance for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson North America Services LLC, a company of the Allianz Group, on Wall Street.

Lochridge, David '96 is a Business Development Manager in the Enterprise Partner Group at Microsoft.

Lund, Marcus '72 is Director of Sales & Marketing at The Point Orlando Resort. Responsible for generating all revenues for the resort by managing the sales team, catering team and reservations department. Marcus is also responsible for all advertising and public relations for the resort.

Maharay, Walt is President of DeLaval, Inc. North America, an international supplier of equipment and technology to dairy farmers worldwide.

Mahmood, Mehnaz '04 works for Schlumberger, anoil fieldd services company supplying technology, information solutions and integrated project management to the oil and gas industry, providing technical support to internal users of a Sales Process application, which is deployed throughout the Company.

McDougal, Christopher '01 is Senior Analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York City where he supports the Mortgage Trading desk in buying, selling and securitizing mortgages, mortgage-backed securities and other asset backed products.

McEvilly, Jean-Marie '88 is Practice Manager at Softscape, Inc, a human capital management software developer in NYC.

McKenna, Camille '00 is an Associate Attorney at Mann & Mitchell, a criminal defense law firm in Providence, R.I.

Melville, Rick '85 is President of Absolute Mortgage Corporation in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Milne, John K. '76 recently retired as President and Chief Investment Officer of Mellon Bond in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Mellon Bond manages over $80 billion in fixed income assets for pension funds, endowments, foundations and insurance companies. 

Moore, Evelyn '83 is Director of International Sales at CLSA Asia Pacific, an Asian based and focused investment bank.

Moses, Jason ’83 is a Senior Analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Virginia, where he works with other elements of the US Intelligence Community and the Dept of Defense on the acquisition of future intelligence collection systems.

Munson, Phil '79 is the Owner and Chairman of the Board for Health Special Risk, Inc.

Myers, Molly '99 is Assistant Commissioner for the Northeast 10 Athletic Conference.  In charge of coordinating the conference's compliance program, providing compliance support to conference membership, serve as liaison to the Athletics' Directors Council, Faculty Athletics Representatives, Compliance Coordinators and Conference SAAC.

Myronova, Olena ’03 is an Investment Associate at Putnam Investments, a global financial services corporation.

Niccolai, Greg '86 is President of BNN Group, Inc., a commercial insurance brokerage in New Jersey. 

Nikonova, Nelya '98 is Program Officer of the Partners for Financial Stability Program for Financial Services Volunteer Corps, an international development organization in New York City helping transitional economies build better financial infrastructure.

Norwood, Rob ’93, is a Sales Engineer at Level 3 Communications, an international communications company operating long-haul fiberoptic cable and Internet backbones.

Odaniell, Mark  ’80 is a Segment Manager at GE Healthcare, a subsidiary of General Electric  that provides transformational medical technologies that are shaping a new age of patient care.

Patsios, Emmanual A. '97 is a Microelectronics Business Unit Director for THEON Sensors, a fabless design and development vendor of MEMS based modules.  

Pearson, Jonathan IV  ’74 is First Vice President at RBC Wealth Management, a full-service securities firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pease, Cameron '89 is Partner in the law firm Goldman & Pease in Needham, Massachusetts.  The firm specializes in civil litigation, real estate, and corporate law.

Pensgen, Dale '72 is a Client Advisor for JPMorgan Private Client Services delivering a suite of financial services including; investments, trusts, financial planning, banking and wealth advising.

Peterson, Scott '02 is a Commercial Lines Account Executive with H. D. Segur Insurance in Cheshire, Connecticut.  H. D. Segur is the largest independent insurance firm in Connecticut.

Piagentini, Michael '03 is Natural Gas Commodities Broker at GFI Group, LLC, an inter-dealer brokerage firm on Wall Street.

Piscitelli, James ’72 is the former superintendent of schools for the Romulus Central School district, Portville Central School, and the Oneonta City School District. He is now retired, and serves as a private consultant.

Powell, Harry '95 is Manager at Deloitte and Touche.  His consulting group specializes in Capital Markets.

Putnam, Darby '06 is a Budget Examiner for New York State Division of The Budget. Her responsibilities include: Overseeing the fiscal operations of State departments, agencies and public authorities, Analyzing and preparing formal recommendations on proposed legislation, Drafting correspondence for the Governor’s Office, Negotiating elements of the budget with legislative staff.

Ramirez, Victoria (Liencres) '91 is a Senior Manager in Investor Center Development at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. in San Francisco, California.

Riefler, John W. '69 is a Retired Officer for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company.

Robin, Chris '89 worked for Fidelity Investments after graduation.  Chris is now Director of Strategic Relationships for Viewpoint Corporation.  Viewpoint is the leading provider of rich media technology and interactive services for the web, film, broadcast media, and games. 

Rosenthall, Philip '83 is Vice President of North American Services & Sales for Alcatel-Lucent, Inc.

Royal, Paul ’85 is the owner of Milepost Financial Planning, a “Fee-Only” financial planning firm based in Exeter, NH.  They provide comprehensive financial planning services to individuals, couples, families, and small businesses seeking objective financial planning advice.

Santander, Francisco '87 owns S.I.S., LLC, a consulting company in Miami, Florida and is also the Sales Manager for Latin America for Avborne Accessory Group, Inc.  Avborne does maintenance repair and overhaul work on commercial aircraft.

Scott, Dean '91 is Project Manager / Business Technology at Vanguard Brokerage Services.  Vanguard offers no-load mutual funds, brokerage services, annuities, and qualified retirement plan administration.

Scott, Shaun ’88 is a Financial Consultant and Owner of Old Forge Financial Services.

Shrewsbury, David '79 is the Vice President of Acquistions for Brookwood Financial Partners, a private equity group based in Beverly, MA.

Shaw, Bradford '76 is an Information Technology Consultant for IBM.

Shirk, George '79 is a Associate Vice President and Senior Investment Writer at T. Rowe Price in Baltimore, MD where he writes mutual fund shareholder reports, financial and retirement planning, as well as market commentary.

Slade, Jeremiah '95 is a National Account Manager for Diligent Board Member Services, which  provides board management services to the boards of some of the world's most prestigious companies.

Smith, Ryan '06 is currently taking time off to teach in Germany, while making his way across Europe in his spare time to immerse himself in economic history.

Sullivan, Jeffrey '86 is a shareholder at Sullivan, McBride, Hess, & Youngblood, P.C., an Albany, NY law firm, specializing in elder law, estate planning, and estate and trust administration.

Summerson, Jay '89 is District Manager, State Government Affairs, for AT&T.  Jay manages AT&T’s day-to-day relations with New York State government.

Tomaino, Anthony '05 is a product lead for Blackbaud, Inc's Student Information Systems division.
 
Toolan, Mike '94 is Founder and President of Kanuzit Enterprises, LLC, a real estate development firm, restaurant management group, and toy company.

Trela, Heather '98 is completing the Ph.D. in political science at SUNY Albany.  Heather is also serving as Assistant to the Director of Publications at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government and teaches as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Political Science Department.

Tupper, Jordan '07 works for BearingPoint, a leading consulting firm, on a contract for New York City's department of finance.

Valley, Keith '01 is an Account Management Representative for the First Tech Credit Union. Keith is responsible for processing garnishments and levies, applying credit card payments to loans and short insurance payoffs on totaled vehicles.

Verni, Matt ’98 is the women’s soccer coach here at Hartwick College.

Vinson, Greg '84 lives in Shanghai and is Director of Chinese operations for for Stolt-Nielson Transportation Group, a leading provider of transportation services for bulk liquids.  Stolt-Nielson also holds a majority interest in Stolt Offshore S.A., an offshore contractor to the oil and gas industry.

Virgil, Timothy '80 is Vice President of Member Relations for the 2800 farmer member Dairylea Cooperative Inc., which provides milk marketing and agri-business services to members.

Wood, Amanda '07 is a Research Assistant at Matthew Greenwald & Associates, a market research firm in Arlington, VA.
