Political Science majors have many opportunities to not only learn about politics, but to apply what they have learned in real-world situations through travel abroad, engaging in their own original research, or interning in a field that interests them.
Pi Sigma Alpha
The political science honors society, Pi Sigma Alpha, encourages research and informed discussion about politics. Students with strong academic records and interest in political science are invited to join Pi Sigma Alpha each spring.

Model United Nations
The Political Science department currently advises the Model UN club that competes in the Harvard Model UN competition. Hartwick students have done a great job representing their assigned countries, and individual students have won awards for their excellent preparation and performance.
