The following guide provides a quick overview of how to locate specific items from the music collection held at the library. Locate the call number for the item using some of the options listed below. Most of our music books and scores are on the 3rd floor, CDs are held at the circulation desk (please ask for assistance).

• Search by Composer
  In the library catalog search by "Author". To find scores or CD's or scores by the composer, click on the Limit this Search button on the top of the results page.
  • If you are looking for a Music CD by this composer, under Material Type select SOUND RECORD .
  • If you are looking for a Score by this composer, under Material Type select PRINTED MUSIC

• Search by Title
  Find specific items if the title is known. Select "Title" in the library catalog.

• Search by Topic or Theme
  Select the search option Keyword or Subject (if known). On the results page for your search click on the Limit this search button on the top. Your options are then as follows:
  • If you are looking for a Music CD, under Material Type select SOUND RECORD
  • If you are looking for a Score, under Material Type select PRINTED MUSIC
