Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science
Information and resources on the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in the social sciences. Maintained by UC Santa Barbara faculty and supported by the NSF.

Center for the Study of Group Processes
Information and research on group processes, including lists of publications, links to relevant WWW sites, and online access to the electronic journal, Current Research in Social Psychology (current issue and archives).

County and City Data Book
Searchable versions of the Data Books for 1988, 1994 and 2000. Include demographic and economic data down to the county and city level. Users can sort data by certain variables and display or FTP the resulting information sets.

Data on the Net contains an encyclopedic listing of data providers, consisting of proprietary, governmental, and university based sources for those who are looking for archival social science data.

Handbook of Latin American Studies
Bibliography of scholarship on Latin American studies published by the Library of Congress. An annual, the Handbook alternates coverage of the humanities and the social sciences each year. All volumes since 1935 (including future volumes in draft stage) are online and available for searching.

Historical Census Browser
Data from the decennial census from 1790-1960. Users may limit retrieval by a number of variables, including age, sex, and ethnicity.

Internet Resources for Demographers
Links to a number of U.S. and international online demographic resources, including the U.S. Census and Current Population Surveys. Also lists sites for health- and geography-related demographic resources.

Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)

National Archive of Criminal Justice Data
Searchable collection of over 500 criminal justice data sets, including attitude surveys and community studies as well as statistics on drugs, crime, court case processing, victims, police, etc. Users may search by subject, title, author or study number.

Population Index on the Web
The entire published database of the quarterly bibliography Population Index for 1986-current. Searchable by author, subject matter, geographical region, and year of publication. Keyword searching of the text is also available. Provides citations and abstracts of books, articles, and papers pertaining to population studies.

Sociological Research Online
Electronic journal published by a consortium which includes the Universities of Surrey and Stirling, the British Sociological Association, and Sage Publications. Publishes peer-reviewed articles on a wide range of sociological issues. Archived online.

Sociology Internet Resources List
List of Internet sites pertaining to the study of sociology. Hosted and maintained at the University at Albany Libraries.

Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics
Statistical data relating to the criminal justice system. Provides information on costs associated with the criminal justice system, results of opinion polls on subjects such as crime, drug use, gun control, etc., arrests, sentencing, juvenile delinquency, prisons, and many other subjects. Maintained by the Hindelang Criminal Justice Research Center at SUNY-Albany for the Department of Justice.

Uniform Crime Reports
County-level data on arrests and reported crimes. Users may limit by certain variables such as age of offender or victim, time of crime, etc.
