Introduction to Animation & Video

This digital media course explores the creative use of "time" through animation and video. As an introductory time-based media course, the class will focus on the fundamentals of animation and video. The class will research and consider different examples of video and animation from the past century.

Students will learn the core concepts necessary for creating various styles of animation and shooting video. Students will edit their animations and videos in Quicktime Pro, iMovie, and Final Cut Express. Storyline, shots, camera angles, and point of view will be explored through the creation of storyboards. Projects include the creation of stop-motion-style animations and video shorts.
