This is Drawing

This course investigates drawing as a subject of inquiry and as a source of visual thinking, espression, and meaning. A particular emphasis is placed on the processes of closely observing and rendering what we see, not what we think we know. The goal is to build a portfolio of accomplished drawings.

Using black and white media as well as color media, students will work on advanced skills and development of content in drawing during this course. Because the formal elements (line, shape, value, texture, color, etc.) are investigated more deeply, emphasis is placed on creative pursuit of compositional variety, visual cohesiveness, and the significant issues of content.

This course is taught by Resident Artist in Art Barbara Ardan.
