Bobby Wheet - Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Bobby Wheet returns to Hartwick as the assistant men's basketball coach this year after previously serving as the assistant from August 2007-June 2008.

Recently, Wheet was the assistant men's basketball coach at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois for the past three years. His duties included recruiting, organizing and implementing team practices, and designing and presenting opponent scouting reports, among other responsibilities. In three years as the recruiting coordinator at Knox College, he helped double the roster size which included a McDonald's All-American Nominee and the 2011 Galesburg Register Mail Player of the Year. He was also the strength and conditioning coach for men's and women's basketball.

Wheet was a student assistant coach at Central College from 2006-2007. He was also a camp coach in the summer of 2006 at Marquette, the University of Wisconsin, and Northern Illinois. In 2010, he completed the Don Meyer Coaching Academy, taught by Don Meyer, who is the current leader in all-time coaching wins in college basketball history.

Wheet earned his Bachelor's degree in Social Science in May 2007 from Central College. He most recently obtained his Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Sciences with a concentration in Coaching Education in June 2011. Wheet is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
