Chapman Earns Conference Honor

ROCHESTER, NY - Hartwick's Mackenzie Chapman (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) was named the Empire 8 Goalie of the Week on Monday after two victories in cage for the 'Wick field hockey team. It marks the first time this season and third time in the last two years Chapman has earned the honor.

Chapman allowed just one goal in wins over Morrisville and Washington & Jefferson this past week. She posted a shutout against the Mustangs and then made 10 stops in a key conference victory over the Presidents Saturday.

Chapman has started in all 11 matches for the Hawks recording 63 saves and three shutouts. She ranks second in goals against average and third in shutouts in the conference this season.

The Hawks are now 8-3 overall and tied for first in the Empire 8 standings with Stevens at 3-0. 'Wick and the Ducks will square off this Saturday at Wright Stadium in a battle for the top spot beginning at 1 p.m.
