Koreman, Tomaino Earn Empire 8 Football Weekly Honors; Pair Also Grab ECAC Awards

ROCHESTER, NY - Senior wide receiver Noah Koreman (Albany, NY/Albany) and senior defensive tackle Ben Tomaino (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) earned accolades from the Empire 8 conference this week for their performances at rival Utica College Saturday. Koreman was named one of two Offensive Players of the Week with Tomaino earning one of the conference's Defensive Players of the Week awards.

Koreman caught five passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns as Hartwick came back to defeat the Pioneers 33-27 and earn its first conference win of the season. He caught two second-half scores, including the game-tying touchdown with just over nine minutes to play. Koreman entered the weekend ranked 7th in Div. III in receiving yards per game (125.75/game).

Tomaino recorded 13 tackles, including having a hand in five of six Hartwick sacks in the game. His sacks totaled 21 yards in Pioneer losses and he also recovered a fumble. Tomaino leads the Hawks with nine sacks for 52 yards on the year and is tied for 4th on the all-time 'Wick charts with 17.5. He needs just two more sacks to climb into 2nd.
