ONEONTA, NY - Thirteen players scored at least a point and the Hartwick (10-12) bench netted 54 of the team's points in a 78-56 win over visiting Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in a makeup game from Jan. 6th at Binder Gym this evening. The victory is the Hawks' 10th of the season, equaling their win total in each of the last three seasons. The Trailblazers fall to 1-21 overall with the loss.

'Wick had four players reach double figures led by Mark Blazek's (Erie, PA) 15 points. The freshman guard hit 5-of-6 from the field including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Martin McCann (Hopewell Junction, NY) and Kyle Phillips (Ashland, MA) each netted 13 points. McCann nailed three treys on the night and Phillips shot 6-for-7 from the floor. Senior guard A.J. Beaulieu (Chicopee, MA) also scored 12.

The Trailblazers were led by Jon Greenberg who picked up a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Mike Perreault was the team's next highest scorer with nine points on a trio of three-pointers.

After a first half that saw neither team gain more than a six-point edge throughout the 20 minutes of action, the Hawks turned up the intensity going on a 16-6 run in an early five-minute span in the second half to earn a 50-38 lead. McCann keyed the run with eight points.

Leading by 11 with just over 10 minutes to play in the second half, 'Wick would cruise the rest of the way going on a 22-11 run to close the contest and secure the victory.

Senior center Greg Bankowski (Schenectady, NY) would contribute eight points, six offensive boards and two steals for the Hawks. Jan Cocozziello (Scotch Plains, NJ) was limited to a career-low two points in the game, but the senior standout still grabbed a team-best eight rebounds and dished a team-high three assists.

As a team, the Hawks cleaned up the glass recording the most rebounds since the fourth game of the season against Keuka (45). They also recorded a season-best 26 offensive rebounds which they turned into 28 second-chance points.

The Hawks next play in Rochester on Sunday afternoon. The team will play league leader RIT, a team that edged the Hawks by one point (69-68) at Binder on Jan. 25th.
