WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The Hartwick College men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Williams College Plansky Invitational on Saturday in Williamstown, MA.
The Hawk women took the 8th spot in the 6K event finishing just behind seventh-place New Paltz. Kim Negrich (Mayfield, NY) completed the course in 25:21.9 for 'Wick's top time of the afternoon. Junior Gabby Dello (Mount Upton, NY) was just over 30 seconds behind with a time of 25:52.2, and freshman Erica Gates (Vestal, NY) ended the race in 26:37.0. MIT won the women's race followed by second-place College of New Jersey, and third-place Tufts.
The Hartwick men placed 9th in the men's 8K. Tim Sattler's (Warwick, NY) time of 30:03.6 was the fastest of the day for the Hawks. Justin Pedersen (Gilbertsville, NY) finished in 30:43.3 and Ben Wronkoski (Salisbury Center, NY) ended the race in 34:01.0. The same three schools of MIT, College of New Jersey and Tufts finished one-two-three in the men's race.
Hartwick College cross country competes in the Empire 8 Championships next weekend in Saratoga Springs, NY.
