
CAPE COD, MA - Hartwick junior Dave Aitchison (Farmingdale, NY/N. Massapequa) was named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Upstate First Team as the ECAC office announced its 2010 Men's Lacrosse All-Stars on Thursday. Aitchison was one of four Empire 8 players on the first team.
Aitchison adds ECAC First Team honors after garnering Empire 8 First Team accolades for the first time this year. He finished the season with 63 points from 29 goals and 34 assists. His 63 points was the 10th-highest single-season point total in the history of the Hartwick men's lacrosse program.
Aitchison tied for 9th in the nation in assists per game averaging 2.43 per outing. He was also 13th in points earning 4.50 per game. He led all players with 41 points (22 goals, 19 assists) in Empire 8 conference play, averaging 5.12 points per contest.
He notched at least one assist in every game this season and twice registered seven points in a game. Aitchison recorded a goal and a career-high six helpers against Stevens on April 7th and scored a career-best five goals and two assists versus Elmira 10 days later. His six assists versus Stevens was tied for the 7th highest single-game total in Division III this season.
Over the course of his three seasons with the Hawks, Aitchison has netted 39 goals and recorded 54 assists for 93 points. He is just one helper shy of cracking the all-time 'Wick top 10 in career assists.
The ECAC is the nation's largest athletic and the only multi-divisional conference with approximately 300 Divisions I, II, and III colleges and universities from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.
