CLEVELAND, OHIO - Two members of the Hartwick men's soccer team are represented on the 2007 Mid-American Conference all-academic team, it was announced. The team was selected by faculty athletic representatives at each league school.
Chris Sardon (Sacramento, Calif.) and
Barry Pearson (Linlithgow, Scotland), both seniors, made up two of the 12 members of the squad. All six schools had at least one representative, while Akron and Western Michigan each had three honorees.
To receive Academic All-MAC accolades, a student-athlete must excel both on the field and off. To qualify, the student-athlete has to have at least participated in 50 percent of the competitions and must maintain at least a 3.20 grade point average. Freshmen and junior college transfers in their first year at the school are ineligible.

Pearson, a 3.36 accounting major, finished his final campaign with five points (1 goal, 3 assists). He scored his lone goal of the year in the season-opener against 2006 NCAA participant, UAB and then dished off assists versus then #10 New Mexico and in back to back games against Bowling Green and Western Michigan.
