ONEONTA, N.Y. - Scott Zobre scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute to lead Binghamton past Hartwick in men's soccer action at Elmore Field, Saturday evening in front of 1109 fans.
Binghamton, now 6-2 on the year, opened the scoring in the ninth minute as Cameron Keith sent a crossing pass to Justin Leskow and the junior connected for his first score of the year.
The Hawks tied the contest less than two minutes later as Chris Jackson (Manchester, England) banged home his fourth score of the year off a pass from Austin McCann (Jenks, Okla.) into an empty net at 10:05. The game was knotted at 1-1 at intermission.
The Bearcats took the lead for good at 72:40 of the second half as Pablo Trillo was credited with the assist on Zobre's first goal of the year.
Hartwick goalie Jeremy Vuolo (Downington, Pa.) made three saves in the loss to the Bearcats, while Binghamton net minder Jason Stenta posted two in the win.
The Hawks, now 3-3-1, return to action Wednesday evening as it travels to face Fairfield University. The match is set for 7 p.m.
