KANSAS CITY, KS - Hartwick's men's soccer team has earned a spot in the Top 10 of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Great Lakes regional rankings released yesterday. The Hawks are tied for ninth in the poll with the University of Michigan (9-3-1).
'Wick, despite five shutouts over the course of an eight-game unbeaten streak (7-0-1), has had difficulty cracking the regional poll this season, due in part to being ranked in one of the strongest regions in the country. The Great Lakes region has five teams landing in the latest national Top 25, which ties for the most of any region. The Northeast and Far West regions also have five teams ranked in the national poll.
Ranked in the region along with the Hawks, are #1 Akron (13-0-0), Louisville (9-2-2), Butler (9-1-1), and six of the seven Big Ten soccer programs. Louisville (#8), Northwestern (#17), Butler (#23), and Ohio State (#25) are the teams joining the Zips in the national poll.
Hartwick hopes to keep its unblemished MAC record intact as the squad travels to Bowling Green on Sunday, Oct. 25th at 1 p.m.
