
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Hartwick's Michael Phillips (Austin, TX/James Bowie) closed out his successful sophomore season on Saturday with a 26th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, MN.
Phillips swam the preliminaries in 2:08.97 for his 3rd top 35 result in three days at the national competition. On Wednesday, he turned in a 31st place effort in the 200 individual medley and followed it up Thursday with a 24th place showing in the 200 freestyle.
Phillips is the first Hartwick athlete to swim at the NCAA Championships since 2006 when Dan Holmberg, Mark Phillips, and Kurt Cedo each competed to help the 'Wick men to a 30th place team finish.
