Barr Remains Undefeated as `Wick Defeats Principia

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Hartwick posted four singles victories and won two of three doubles matches en route to registering a 6-3 victory over Principia College in men's tennis action, Wednesday morning.

Hartwick, 1-1 overall, took a 2-1 lead into singles competition as the duo of Eric Des Roberts (Biddeford, Maine) and Sean Barr (Scarsdale, N.Y.) downed Christian Hagenlocher and Cameron Huber 8-3 at two doubles, while Dave Altman (Katonah, N.Y.) and Ryan Hughes (Clifton Park, N.Y.) topped the tandem of Eric Lines and Colby Howe 8-5 in the final doubles pairing.

The Hawks swept the singles competition from number three to six. Barr remained undefeated on the trip by downing Huber 6-0, 6-2 at number four, while Altman was the second off the courts for Hartwick following a 6-3, 6-1 result over Lines at five singles. Hughes' 6-4, 6-0 victory over Howe at the sixth spot clinched the victory for the Hawks. DesRoberts gained the final point for Hartwick at number three with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Hagenlocher.

Both Dan Riviello (Clyde, N.Y.) and Dan Meininger (Cassville, N.Y.) suffered defeats in singles competition. Graham Wightman downed Riviello 6-2, 7-5 at the top spot, while Meininger rallied to force a third set, but fell to Clayton DeLaney 6-1, 7-5 (11-9).

Hartwick returns to action Friday as it plays Franklin (Ind.) in its last action before heading home from Spring Break.
