  January 16, 2009

ONEONTA, NY - Ithaca's Tracy Bradley (Brunswick, ME) recorded a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds on Friday night to lead the visiting Bombers to a 74-50 win over Hartwick at Binder Gymnasium. Bradley sank 13 of her 19 shots (68%) on the night and grabbed six of IC's 12 offensive rebounds in the contest. The Bombers improve to 10-5 and remain unbeaten in the Empire 8 at 6-0. Hartwick drops to 5-7 and 1-3 in the conference standings.

The Hawks jumped out to a 9-6 early lead on the Bombers and trailed by just a point, 14-13, with just over 11 minutes left in the opening half. Ithaca would then seize control of the game with a quick 10-0 run in the next 1:33 with a Jordan Confessore (Kendall Park, NY) three-point play and a three-point basket keying the run. The Bombers would outscore the Hawks 16-6 in the final 10 minutes of the half to enter the break up 19 points, 40-21.

In the second half the IC lead swelled to 25 points, 54-29, but Hartwick would battle back. The Hawks would whip off a 20-4 run over the next eight minutes to cut the lead to single digits, 58-49, with under five minutes to play. 'Wick had eight different players score at least a point in the big run including Shamia Dean (Rensselaer, NY), Fritzi Flores (Bergenfield, NJ), and Heather Pruchansky (Naples, FL), who each connected on a three-pointer. IC would go cold from the floor hitting 2 of 10 from the field and the team turned the ball over eight times in the span.

The Bombers would recover in the next two minutes scoring seven straight points to close the door on a Hartwick comeback bid. The visitors would end the contest on a 16-1 run over the final 4:45 ensuring their 10th win of the season. To go along with Bradley's 28 points, Katherine Bixby (Philadelphia, PA) scored 11 for IC, and Elissa Klie (Wyckoff, NJ) and Confessore finished with 10 apiece.

Cassie Dresser (Ovid, NY) led the Hawks with 11 points. Lauren Ploof (Hammond, NY) added 10 and Kara Foro (Schenectady, NY) scored eight. Danée Harrison (Cary, NC) grabbed 12 rebounds which was a game-high.

The Hawks will look to snap a four-game winless streak tomorrow evening as they travel to Utica for another Empire 8 contest.
