Hawks Tie for Third at RPI Invitational

TROY, NY - Hartwick earned 10 points to tie with host RPI for third place at the RPI Invitational which concluded Sunday at Prospect Park. New Paltz compiled 21 total points, including six in Sunday's doubles, to capture the title. St. John Fisher College was second with 14 points.

In the first doubles flight, Betsy Breaznell (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) and Christina Sorrentino (Sherrill, NY/VVS) went 1-2 with an 8-6 win over RPI. In third doubles, Carly Jesset (Shelburne, VT/CVU) and Jill Rotella (Camillus, NY/West Genesee) also earned a 1-2 record on the day with a win over the duo from New Paltz.

Hartwick opens up Empire 8 play on Tuesday with a home match against Utica at 4 p.m. The match kicks off a four-match home stand for the Hawks who face RPI on Thursday, RIT Saturday and Wells on Sunday.
