Hawks Sweep Wells 9-0

DELHI, NY - Hartwick's women's tennis team won its fourth match of the season on Wednesday with a 9-0 shutout of Wells College in a dual match that was moved indoors to SUNY Delhi's Clark Center. The Hawks dropped just one game in their three doubles matches and no player surrendered more than four games in singles action.

Lauren Michels (Clinton, NY/Clinton) was perfect in sixth singles with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Amanda Casleon to earn her third straight win. Jennifer Lin (Albany, NY/Albany), Christina Sorrentino (Sherrill, NY/VVS), and Kim Post (Nashua, NH/N. Middlesex Reg.) each won convincingly winning 12 of 13 games in their singles matches.

Carly Jesset (Shelburne, VT/CVU) won 6-1, 6-2 in fifth singles and Betsy Breaznell (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory in 1st singles. Jesset's triumph marked her fourth consecutive singles win.

Hartwick will travel up the road to finish up a suspended match with Oneonta State tomorrow at 4 p.m.
