ROCHESTER, NY - The Empire 8 Conference recently announced its 2009 women's tennis postseason honors. A trio of Hartwick College players were recognized for their efforts in the fall campaign. Junior Kim Post (Nashua, NH/N. Middlesex Reg.) was named to the second team in singles. Jennifer Lin (Albany, NY/Albany) earned honorable mention in singles and Post and Lin combined for honorable mention as a doubles team. Senior Betsy Breaznell (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) was selected to the 2009 Empire 8 Women's Tennis Sportswoman of the Year Team.

Post led the Hawks in singles victories for the second straight season. She recorded an 8-4 mark at the number four singles slot. She was a solid performer within the Empire 8 compiling a 6-2 record in conference matches with victories over Stevens, Nazareth, RIT, Elmira, Alfred, and Utica. Over her three-year career with 'Wick, Post has registered a singles mark of 26-14.

Lin earns E8 honors for the third time in three seasons. Last year, the junior garnered honorable mention in doubles and she grabbed second team honors in singles as a freshman in 2007. This season in singles action, Lin came on strong at the end of the year to finish with a four-match winning streak at the difficult #2 spot. She won six of her last eight matches and earned a 4-4 mark in the Empire 8.

The Post/Lin doubles team was lethal unit for the Hawks in 2009. The duo won nine matches out of 12 this season and went 5-3 in conference matches. The five victories was second-most at number two doubles in the E8 this season.

Breaznell was selected to the Sportswoman of the Year Team for consistently exhibiting the critical traits as an outstanding sportswoman throughout the season. The three-time E8 honoree finished her career with 31 singles and 24 doubles wins.
