`Wick Volleyball Splits with Utica and RIT

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Christina Evans (Cedar Hills, Utah) posted a team-high 18 kills and added 17 digs as Hartwick downed Utica 33-31, 30-22, 30-22 in Empire 8 volleyball action Saturday at St. John Fisher's campus. The Hawks fell to RIT in the second match of the day 30-25, 30-25, 30-14.

In the victory over the Pioneers, Abby Cummings (Syracuse, N.Y.) also added 11 kills and a team high 33 digs, while Darcy Dolge (LaGrande, Ore.) and Katie Simmons (East Kingston, N.H.) each added seven kills in the win. Defensively, Kerry Sisson (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) recorded 22 digs.

Cummings led the Hawks in the match with RIT with a 12-kill, 14-dig effort, while Evans added 9 kills and 11 digs.

Hartwick, 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the Empire 8, returns to action Sunday as it plays Stevens Tech at 10 a.m. and then St. John Fisher at noon before returning home.
