Women's Cross Country 4th, Men 5th at Oneonta Invitational

ONEONTA, NY - The Hartwick College cross country teams competed in their first meets of the season on Saturday at the Oneonta State Early Bird Invitational at Fortin Park. The women's team took 4th place at the event while the men were 5th.

Sophomore Kim Negrich (Mayfield, NY) was the Hawks' top finisher in the women's 4500 meter run with a final time of 19:26. Freshman Erica Gates (Vestal, NY) was just 26 seconds behind at 19:54 and junior Gabby Dello (Mount Upton, NY) crossed the finish line at the 20:01 mark.

 In the men's 6K, sophomore Tim Sattler (Warwick, NY) registered an average mile of 5:58 and finished with a final time of 22:12. Classmate Justin Pedersen (Gilbertsville, NY) ended the race with time of 23:09.

The Hawk cross country teams host the Fast Track 5K next weekend. The event is slated for 10 a.m. on the Hartwick College campus.
