Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Compete at Oneonta Airfield Invitational

ONEONTA, NY - The men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Oneonta State Invitational on Friday evening at Fortin Park. The women's team took 8th place while the men were 9th in their respective races.

Hartwick junior Gabby Dello (Mount Upton, NY) finished the women's 4500-meter run 46th out of 95 competitors with a time of 19:05. Freshman Erica Gates (Vestal, NY) was a few spots behind with a time of 19:31.

Hamilton College took the team title in the women's event. The Continentals were followed by Plattsburgh in second and Mansfield in third. In the men's 6K, Justin Pedersen (Gilbertsville, NY) was the Hawks' top finisher ending the race in 21:37. Tim Sattler (Warwick, NY) was 33 seconds behind Pedersen with a time of 22:10.

Plattsburgh and Cortland tied for first place in the team standings.

The Hartwick College cross country teams are off for two weeks until they compete at the Lehigh Paul Shirt Invite at Bethlehem, PA. on Friday, Oct. 3.
