TROY, NY - The Hartwick College swimming and diving teams earned a pair of victories over RPI on Sunday. The Hawk men downed the Engineers 139-104 to improve to 5-0 on the season, while the 'Wick women rolled to a 160-82 win to up their record to 3-2.
For the second consecutive day, Kevin Milkovich (Newburgh, NY) was a triple winner earning top times in the 500 and 1000 freestyles and the 200 IM. Milkovich cut over 16 seconds off his 1000 free time against Le Moyne yesterday, and over six seconds from his time in the 500 free.
Steve VanDuzer (Tunkhannock, PA) and Michael Phillips (Austin, TX) also won two events on the day. VanDuzer was a first-place finisher in the 50 free (22.15) and the 100 butterfly (54.34), while Phillips won the 100 free (49.18) and 200 free (1:47.79) events.
Tomie Schoening (Edan Prairie, MN) also took first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.91, and Gregg Ducey (Saunderstown, RI) won the 100 breast in 1:01.67.
Ashley Brinkman (Ottawa, OH), Erin Gray (Gardner, MA), and Stephanie Ha (Everett, WA) all captured multiple events for the Hawk women. Brinkman swept the diving events for the second day in a row with scores of 230.25 in the 1-meter event and 225.35 in the 3-meter competition. Gray won the 500 free (5:30.28) and 1000 free (11:05.48) events once again, and Ha was tops in the 200 IM (2:14.80) and the 100 fly (1:00.49).
Robyn Smith (Jupiter, FL) also won for the Hawks in the 50 free and Abby Wright (Holliston, MA) was first in the 100 backstroke.
The 'Wick relay teams were also picked up four first-place finishes in four races on the day. Both Hartwick swimming and diving teams are back at Moyer Pool a week from today against Nazareth at 1 p.m.
