Danielle Parks enters her second season as assistant women's basketball coach at Hartwick College after helping 'Wick to 10 wins and seven Empire 8 Conference victories in the 2010-11 season.
Parks, who assists head coach Missy West with all aspects of the women's program, arrived at Oyaron Hill after a successful playing career at a pair of Division II institutions , Adelphi University (Garden City, NY) and Holy Family University (Philadelphia, PA).
She began her playing days at Holy Family, where she played in 32 games in two seasons from 2005-07. Over her two-year stint with the program, the Tigers went 58-6 overall and a perfect 46-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The team also won a CACC title and advanced to the NCAA Division II Northeast Regionals in both seasons.
After transferring to Adelphi, Parks played in 25 games making four starts as the Panthers recorded a 14-15 overall record, a 12-8 mark in the East Coast Conference standings, and appearances in the ECC and ECAC playoffs in her junior season. She averaged 5.2 points per game and led the team in three-point field-goal percentage. As a senior, Parks played in 26 games and helped the Panthers to a 13-15 record, 10-8 ECC record, and a conference quarterfinal appearance. She averaged 6.9 points per outing, led the team in three-point percentage for the second straight year, and finished second on the squad in assists.
Parks graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in communications from Adelphi University in May of 2009. She was a member of the Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society, the Christian Fellowship of Athletes, and was a Student Athlete Advisory Committee member for four years.
After graduation, Parks began working on a master's degree from Adelphi in sport management while serving as a marketing/promotions intern and equipment room supervisor and worked with local AAU basketball programs.
