Binder Physical Education Center
$2 million goal
... to fund upgrades and renovations to Binder Physical Education Center.
Our objective is simple: to raise the caliber of our facilities to the caliber of the athletic performance of our students. They deserve nothing less. Athletics at Hartwick are a source of pride for those who compete as well as those who cheer. At Hartwick, athletics are about more than competition on the field, in the pool, or on the court. Sport is an important extension of our students' experiential learning.
Gifts toward Binder Physical Education Center will provide our student-athletes with a facility worthy of their hard work and dedication. Team facilities symbolize the care we take of our student-athletes as they prepare for competition. These are also the places where impressions are made on future students as well as visiting teams.
When renovations are fully funded, Binder Physical Education Center will house dedicated team rooms in addition to locker rooms with new larger lockers, more open space, new showers and bathrooms, new flooring, seating, and ventilation. Moyer Pool, which houses competition for both our Division I Women's Water Polo team and our Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams, will have important upgrades, and Elting Fitness Center will be an even better space in which our competitors will train.
Binder Physical Education Center is a vital space on the Hartwick campus and so an important objective in The Campaign for Hartwick Students. Nearly one-third of our students compete at the varsity level. Their Hartwick experiences teach them the value of working as a team, strategies for making quick decisions in tough situations, the deep satisfaction of identifying and building on their unique talents, and the benefits of striving to redefine and achieve their potential. In and out of competition, Hartwick students learn to be leaders.
