Meet the Counseling Center Staff

Gary Robinson

Gary Robinson, Director of Counseling Services

Gary is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is licensed to practice in New York and Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh's School of Social Work program and holds a masters degree of science in Counseling Psychology and an Educational Specialist Certificate from the State University of New York at Albany. Gary's professional interests include the management of depression and anxiety symptoms, substance abuse, crisis & critical incident stress de-briefing and cross cultural counseling.

Victoria Tarbell, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Victoria is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State; she earned a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York at Albany. Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis, which she earned at Binghamton University. Victoria has extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Her professional interests also include mood and anxiety disorders, dating and sexual violence, grief counseling, self acceptance work, and women's issues. Victoria is the current staff advisor to Hartwick's Women's Center.

Stacey Pankiewicz, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Stacey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York; she earned a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marist College. Stacey joins the Hartwick College Counseling Center team as a proud Hartwick alumna; while at Hartwick, she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology. Stacey's professional interests include stress management, anxiety and mood disorders, relationship issues, social skills and assertiveness training, and sexual and gender identity concerns.

Theresa vonHassel

Theresa vonHassel, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Theresa holds a masters degree in Family Practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (RN) and a post masters degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NPP); she is also a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry. She has worked in a large variety of mental health settings throughout her career with all age groups and populations. 

Theresa provides psychiatric medication management to Hartwick students. She is on campus a limited number of hours per week at the counseling center; students must obtain a referral from one of the counselors to meet with Theresa.

Sheila Paul

Sheila Paul, Administrative Assistant/Secretary

Sheila is the initial contact person at the Counseling Center. She wears many hats but her primary role includes answering the phone, greeting students when they arrive and scheduling appointments. Sheila is also the Administrative Assistant/Secretary for the Health Center; she is responsible for the entire Perrella Wellness Center building.
