Dates and Registration:
Note: Orientation is required of all first-year students. Register online by May 21 to attend one of the 2012 New Student Orientation dates below:

  • Sunday, June 3 - registration closed; please select another date
  • Wednesday, June 6
  • Saturday, June 9 - registration closed; please select another date
  • Tuesday, June 12

Orientation Schedule:
New Student Orientation 2012 is a day-long event (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). Preview the schedule of events!

Goals and Learning Outcomes:
The New Student Orientation program is designed to introduce students and their families to the resources available to support their successful transition to Hartwick College. The goals of the program are as follows:

  • Acquaint new students and their families with the mission, programs and services of the College.
  • Familiarize students and their families with academic, co-curricular and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Provide students and their families the opportunity to interact with other students, faculty and staff.
  • Enhance students' understanding of strategies for success and begin to understand their own potential and challenges.
  • Inform students about the importance of being actively engaged on campus.

Lodging Listings 
On-campus Overnight Accommodations: On-campus residential hall accommodations are available for a minimal fee ($30/single, $50/double, $65/triple) for the night before and/or the night of each Orientation program. Please make reservations by May 21.

Note: So that we can best prepare for your visit, students or families requiring interpreting services or other accommodations should notify the Office of First Year Experience at 607-431-4195 no later than May 21.
